You might notice that some course videos mention earlier firmware versions. For example, a course might say “Videos current through Firmware 1.04, text current through Firmware 2.31.”
While I would love nothing more than to have every single video reflecting the latest firmware, I just can't remake them for every firmware update. There are two main reasons:
-
I don’t have every camera at my disposal.
Keeping every camera body on hand just to re-record lessons for each incremental update isn’t practical, and renting them for smaller updates becomes too costly. -
There isn’t enough time to re-record every video for every update for every camera.
Manufacturers release frequent firmware updates across a wide lineup of cameras. Most of those updates are bug fixes or performance improvements.
If there is a new feature or menu change, I update the text lessons with clear notes describing what’s new or different. That ensures the information in the course always stays accurate and up to date, even if the video still shows an older firmware number.
So while the videos may show older firmware versions, the course content as a whole is always kept current — and you’ll have everything you need to confidently use your camera with the latest firmware.
Being human, some updates do slip by. Please email us at support@peltierphotocourses.com if you notice any discrepancies.
