Help CenterWe released a mobile app (Peltier Photo Courses) in July 2023. This app gives you the capability to do things like participate in community discussions and download videos for offline viewing. It is available for both iOS and Android.
There are some things you cannot do in the app as of now:
- Take quizzes or tests directly in the app (they can be opened in your mobile web browser)
- View workbooks or submit assignments (these can also be opened in your mobile web browser)
- Use the LiveChat feature
- Download text for all lessons (PDF handouts can still be downloaded)
Login
You'll log in to the app using your existing credentials. You can reset your password from the web browser sign-in page if you need to.
If you're having other problems logging in, please send us a screenshot of the error, the device type & model you're using, and the operating system version you're using. We'll troubleshoot ASAP.
App Navigation
The Home screen shows your most recent courses, your progress in those courses, and the latest community posts if your courses have community access.
Tap on the Learn icon to be taken to all of your courses and communities.
Tap on the Notifications icon to be taken to the community notifications. Enable Push notifications to be notified of activity for posts you're following.
Tap on your profile in the upper-right to edit your profile, password, and view your Certificate. These will all open up your web browser. Tap on the "Contact..." dropdown to get help.
The Course Navigator
You'll be taken to the course navigator when starting or resuming a course. "Resume" will take you to where you left off.
When you're in a lesson module, you can tap on the three bars in the upper left to go to the course navigator, where you can jump to any lesson. Note the reminders for the quizzes that they must be completed in a web browser.
Video Player
The video controls are fairly standard.
- Enable or disable closed-captioning (English only)
- Change the playback speed
- Go full-screen with the dashed square in the lower-right of the video player
Video lessons will open full-screen when your device is in the horizontal (landscape) orientation. Rotate it to the vertical (portrait) orientation to view the accompanying text.
There are two ways to download videos to your device: the "download" icon in the video player or the "Download" tab below the video. Videos will be downloaded to an app folder in your device's file browser. Captions are not downloaded with the video.

The video cannot be downloaded if you do not see the "Download" tab. Reasons could be:
- It's a free course (free course videos cannot be downloaded)
- The course has not yet been reformatted for offline viewing (this is in the works for all courses, let us know if you want us to bump your course to the front of the line)
- It's a lesson module that I didn't feel would be necessary for offline viewing (like the Virtual Classroom Orientation)
Web-Only Content
When going to a Quiz, Test, Workbook, Assignment, or Survey, you'll have two options: skip the lesson, so you can complete it on a computer later, or open it in your web browser.
These modules are browser-friendly on mobile; they just haven't been integrated into the app yet.
You can come back into the app when you're complete in your browser.
Community
I hope the app makes it much easier to utilize the Community feature!
If your course includes Community access, you can get to that Community by tapping on "Community" in the "Learn" screen or going to the latest posts on your home screen.
You can follow/unfollow posts, create a new post, and comment on others. Select a "Space" appropriate for your post.
This is a great place to help out one another!
