A change in mailing address needs to be done in 30 days; this question & answer is incorrect
One of the most controversial test questions is regarding the number of days in which you need to notify the FAA of a change in address.
There are actually two numbers to remember here:
- Update your sUAS registration information in 14 days.
- Update your Airman Certificate information in 30 days.
This difference is contained in the question. So pay attention to the question. It will specify whether it's asking about sUAS registration or your pilot certificate.
It'd be akin to your state DMV requiring you to update your car registration information in 14 days and your driver's license in 30 days. It's silly, I know.
This is a great example of how the FAA will trick you on the test if you don't pay attention to the wording.
